There’s something about this book that keeps it in my rereading cycle.
I mentioned it on Reddit as a bingo square for something or other, and that pushed it up into my consciousness for a reread. My copy is a scan of the 1993 paperback, as many of the books I obtained Pre-Kindle were. I don’t think I scanned it myself, but it’s hard to remember because I got through hundreds.
It’s a story that never gets old and, of course even though I know exactly what’s going to happen after a third or forth reread, it’s still got a great sense of satisfaction about it. The Poe references are perhaps a bit of a stretch, but there’s a lot of character growth and solid reformation of liberty and women to cheer on.
