Revisiting The Bourne Identity

my best friend’s birthday came up last week and, as ever, I got him something to read. Books are my go-to gift for all my discerning friends.

I have a long and complex relationship with Robert Ludlum’s The Bourne Identity and this friend had never read it.

he is a huge fan of the audiobook narrator Scott Brick, so that is the version I bought for him. I, on the other hand, can’t imagine hearing it read without William Dufris.

So as he gets through it I am going to reread it also, and blog about it here as we go along. NO idea when he’ll crack it open, but I stand ready with copies of my old cassettes from the 1990’s to follow along with his fancy-pants modern digital version.

Book cover of "The Bourne Identity" by Robert Ludlum. The title is displayed prominently with "The Bourne Identity" in large blue letters, and "read by Scott Brick" underneath. The author's name, Robert Ludlum, is shown in black text at the top. To the right, a blue banner with the text "Unabridged" is displayed. The background features a man, presumed to be Jason Bourne, in a dynamic, distressed pose. He appears wet and is leaning forward with a foggy, overcast setting, including a helicopter and a boat in the distance. The text at the bottom says, "Introducing Jason Bourne – saviour or assassin?" in red and black.
